Summary of the contracting process

The Bank of England has awarded a contract for the Technology Transformation & Delivery Framework (TECH-178), which is a multi-lot, multi-supplier framework agreement supporting the Bank's Technology Directorate. The procurement falls under the 'IT services: consulting, software development, Internet and support' category, centered around services at the Bank's premises in London or off-site as necessary. The award was made on 20th October 2025, with the framework contract set to cover a four-year period from 5th December 2025 to 4th December 2029. The procurement followed a selective method through a restricted procedure above the threshold, ensuring comprehensive supplier engagement across various lots with participants such as Accenture, Capgemini, and Cognizant among others.

This procurement process offers sterling opportunities for large enterprises capable of delivering comprehensive IT services and consultancy, as evidenced by the framework's established vendors. While the framework does not commit to a minimum spend, the overall potential value of £180 million indicates substantial business growth opportunities for successful suppliers during the contract's duration. The framework is particularly suitable for large IT consultancies with expertise in infrastructure, platform services, and data services, positioning them well to support critical functions and innovations within the Bank's technological infrastructure. Companies offering robust services in architecture, transformation, and advisory are also likely to find significant avenues for engagement and growth within this framework.
