Notice Description

NHS South East London CCG is seeking to commission Mental Health High Support Services support for up to a maximum of 12 Services Users with enduring mental health needs. The aims of this supported living service are to enable service users with mental health needs to live in the community and function at an optimal level of independence, with appropriate levels of support. The Service will play an essential role in meeting the accommodation and support needs of people who may have not lived independently or succeeded in living independently previously. In particular, the Service will meet the needs of individuals who are leaving the hospital or residential care services. A key aim of this service is to support residents with a range of needs to live as independently as possible, developing the skills necessary to move on to lower support accommodation or independent living. The service will develop intervention strategies in conjunction with other relevant health and social care agencies that help Service Users to achieve optimum functioning and independence within the context of their mental health needs. The service will use a range of methods for delivering the service to maximise coverage and capacity and to meet people's needs in a personalised way. The contract is going to be for 1 year. The Contract is expected to commence on 1st March 2022. This is a call for competition. To participate in the procurement exercise, potential bidders will need to register their organisation on our e-tendering portal (if you are not already registered on the e-tendering portal) (https://proContract.due-north.com/register) and express their interest by completing the attached Expression of Interest questionnaire. Your expression of interest will be treated as incomplete should you fail to submit a duly completed expression of interest questionnaire. The interested organisations must download the expression of interest questionnaire. In the event that NHS SEL CCG receives only one expression of interest by the above deadline, the NHS SEL CCG reserves the right to enter into direct negotiations with that supplier to award a contract. Additional information: The aims of this supported living service are to enable service users with mental health needs to live in the community and function at an optimal level of independence, with appropriate levels of support. The Service will therefore play an essential role in meeting the accommodation and support needs of people who may have not lived independently or succeeded in living independently previously. In particular, the Service will meet the needs of individuals who are leaving the hospital or residential care services. A key aim of this service is to support residents with a range of needs to live as independently as possible, developing the skills necessary to move on to lower support accommodation or independent living. Within this context, the Service will: * Enable people to recover and develop the capacity to live more independently in their communities * Provide a skilled staff team where support workers are recovery focussed, are operating on the principles of psychologically informed environments and support people to develop their ability to do things for themselves. * Provide appropriate levels of support to minimise the risk of crisis, to be able to provide more intensive support when needed and increase the potential for long term recovery * Provide an environment that facilitates access to employment, training, education and wider community activities * Provide a service culture that empowers people and enables them to increase their confidence, assertiveness and awareness The Service will provide support for up to a maximum of 12 Services Users with enduring mental health needs. The Service will be provided at 99 Kirkwood Road, SE15 3XU The Service will be provided by, at least, the minimum number of staff required to maintain a safe and well-supported service. The Provider must ensure that Service Users are provided with adequate support in order to enable them to continue to live in the community and to reduce the risk of admission to the hospital. Support will include monitoring the Service Users' mental and physical health and general quality of life and will be focused on enabling their recovery and ability to remain living in the community.
