Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is led by Liverpool City Council, which is seeking suppliers for the "Vision Impairment Holistic Service". The contract, valued at £2,085,000, falls under the health and social work services category. This initiative aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with vision impairments through a community-based approach that aligns with the Care Act 2014. The procurement stage is currently at the award phase, following the tender period that concluded on 24 August 2018. The contract duration runs from 1 December 2018 to 30 November 2023, with services primarily required in the North West of the United Kingdom.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses focused on healthcare and social services, particularly those that provide support and rehabilitation for visually impaired individuals. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, given the procurement method allows for selective bidding. Companies that can deliver innovative, person-centred approaches while ensuring accessibility and effective care pathways will be particularly well-suited to compete in this procurement process.
