Cornwall Council has a requirement under the Care Act 2014 to shape health and social care markets in their Authority area to ensure sufficient supply of a range and choice of services and provision to meet the needs of residents who require care and support services irrespective of their funding source. The Council and NHS Kernow Commissioners acknowledge the benefits to joining together contractual requirements, pricing structure and route to market and have agreed to propose joint commissioning of Home Care & Supportive Lifestyles services (including Joint and Complex Cases) from 2018.
