Summary of the contracting process

The Kent County Council has awarded the contract for the NEET Autumn 2022 project to multiple suppliers for the provision of secondary education services in the South East region of the United Kingdom. The contract, worth £96,882 GBP, was awarded on 15th September 2022. The project aims to re-engage young people who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) in areas such as Thanet, Swale, Maidstone, and Gravesend, following disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The delivery of services is face-to-face and includes activities focused on education, employability, mental health support, and more. The contract period runs from 26th September 2022 to 31st March 2023.

This tender presents business growth opportunities for suppliers specialising in secondary education services, especially those with experience in supporting vulnerable youth populations. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations are encouraged to participate. The open procurement procedure offers a chance for interested businesses to contribute to vital educational initiatives by providing tailored services to re-engage NEET young people and support their holistic development. The close collaboration with the Kent County Council presents a valuable partnership opportunity to make a positive impact on the education landscape in the region.

Notice Title

NEET Autumn 2022

Notice Description

There has been a long-term decline in NEET provision across the county. In Autumn 2021, Reconnect provided some funding to deliver re-engagement provision in areas, where provision was particularly lacking. Despite new provision being launched in the county, the NEET Support Service have identified 4 areas where there is urgent need for provision: * Thanet * Swale * Maidstone * Gravesend The Covid-19 pandemic has led to many students becoming very disengaged from education and continue to struggle to access services and education. A high number are experiencing mental health problems. We are looking for projects to re-engage these young people. These should offer: * Activities that will bridge the gap back into mainstream education and services. * Activities should be needs lead based on an initial assessment. * Motivational/confidence building support * Employability/Soft skills development * Mentoring/personal support * Maths and English where required - a recognised qualification such as functional skills. * Work Experience/community activities/general positive activities * Support for those experiencing mental health issues. This is an indicative list, and we are open to other offers if the bidder can demonstrate they are effective in re-engaging NEET young people. Delivery should primarily be face to face for this client group.
