Summary of the contracting process

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is currently in the planning stage for the "Adult Social Care Workforce Development, Learning and Development Offer" procurement process, aimed at enhancing training and support for the adult social care workforce in the United Kingdom. This initiative, announced in the "Build Back Better" plan, encompasses a significant investment of £500 million over three years, with a maximum contract value of £150 million. Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary sector organisations are particularly well-suited to compete, as the procurement aims to maximise market engagement and gather insights on delivering effective training solutions. Businesses involved in the health training, special education, and higher education sectors should consider this procurement as a pathway to contribute to workforce development while potentially expanding their service offerings in collaboration with the DHSC.
