Summary of the contracting process

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is seeking tenders for the Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA) project, classified under the auditing services category. This tender is currently in the planning stage, with a deadline for submissions set for 6th October 2017. The expected start date for the contract is 1st January 2018, with a duration of four years, lasting until 31st December 2022. Businesses interested in this opportunity should note that this is an open procurement process, which allows a wide range of suppliers to participate.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in the energy efficiency and auditing sectors to grow their business. The CHPQA programme encourages investment in energy-efficient CHP plants, which can lead to reduced energy costs and CO2 emissions. Companies with expertise in auditing and energy management will have a competitive advantage, particularly those looking to contribute to the government’s renewable energy initiatives. Engaging with this contract could open doors to further collaborations within the sustainability-driven market.

Notice Description

Text to be corrected in the original notice: Place of text to be modified: Modified tender deadline date. Instead of: Read: Other additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The current contract for the CHPQA programme is due to come to an end in December 2017. The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is therefore looking to retender the contract, with a start date of January 2018. The CHPQA Scheme is an annual assessment process that ensures that all CHP plants that benefit from government support through a variety of renewable energy and energy taxation policies meet a minimum level of energy efficiency. It exists to encourage investment in more energy efficient CHP, saving on energy costs and reducing CO2 emissions. A pre-market engagement day was held on 26th June, having previously published a Prior Information Notice, for exploring new ways of delivering the CHPQA programme. The Presentation and Questions and Answers from this event are included within the Invitation To Tender documentation.
