Cornwall Council, NHS Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group and the Council of the Isles of Scilly require advocacy services to assist in meeting independent advocacy statutory duties and demands for advocacy provision in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Local authorities must involve people in decisions made about them and their care and support. Statutory duties related to independent advocacy are as follows. * Independent Health Complaints Advocacy * Independent Care Act Advocacy * Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy * Independent Mental Health Advocacy There is also evidence regarding the benefits of investing in non-statutory advocacy to help people to navigate the health and social care system.
