Summary of the contracting process

The SWP Barns and Buildings Project, managed by the Peak District National Park Authority, seeks a Conservation Architect to coordinate the repair and restoration of traditional field barns. The project falls under the advisory architectural services category and is located in Bakewell, England. The procurement process is currently at the award stage, with an awarded contract valued at £12,400 effective from 13th November 2020 until 30th November 2021. Originally published on 19th August 2020, the tender process adopted an open procurement method, allowing all qualified bidders to participate.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in architectural conservation and historic building restoration. Companies with experience in managing building projects, particularly those with a focus on traditional structures, would be well-suited to compete for future contracts in this sector. Given the emphasis on competitive tendering for contractors with relevant expertise, this could also benefit local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to expand their portfolio within construction services.
