Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the MCA - Maritime and Coastguard Agency, which is seeking to contract multiple training courses on commercial college management as part of the Contract Management Capability Programme. This initiative aims to enhance contract and supplier management skills within the public sector, specifically for their Hydrography & Meteorology Team. The tender was initiated on 1 October 2021, with the contract period running from 8 September 2021 to 8 May 2022, and the procurement method is a direct single tender action as it falls below the threshold. The training, valued at £29,200, is focused in the South East of England and falls under the education and training services category.

This training tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in educational services, particularly those offering contract management and supplier training. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, given their suitability for this type of contract. With a focus on delivering bespoke training to meet specific public sector needs, businesses with expertise in contract management training and accreditation would be well-positioned to engage and grow their operations by responding to similar tenders in the future.
