Summary of the contracting process

The Efficiency East Midlands Ltd (EEM) has initiated a public procurement process through an open procedure to establish a new Asbestos Survey, Removal, and Disposal Services Framework. This framework aims to replace the expiring one, covering both domestic and commercial properties across the UK. EEM, in collaboration with three like-minded consortia, will offer services from eight contractors across four sub-lots in the Midlands and nationally. The framework period spans from 17th June 2024 to 16th June 2028, with potential five-year call-off extensions. Key dates include the tender period ending on 27th March 2024 and the framework starting on 17th June 2024.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in asbestos-related services. Firms involved in asbestos surveys, removals, analytical services, and laboratory testing can benefit from substantial work across various public sector entities, including housing associations, local authorities, and NHS trusts. SMEs are particularly suitable for this tender as the framework encourages inclusivity. Successful contractors will gain access to an expanding membership network, enhancing their scope for long-term collaborations and sustainable business growth.
