Notice Description

A Design Team is to be appointed by South Cambridgeshire District Council to provide a full design and management service on a number of housing developments within the District and surrounding areas where appropriate. The Design Team will be required to review development opportunities on a number of sites, to take the projects through from the feasibility stage to build completion, occupation and final completion of the projects. The Council wish to appoint an Architect as Lead Consultant to act as Design Team Leader and to be responsible for the design and management of the whole project including the coordination of the work of other members of the Design Team in accordance with the RIBA Plan of Work 2013 and as incorporated into the- RIBA Standard Agreement 2010 (2012 revision)The Architect will also be required to act as Contract Administrator under the terms of the standard JCT contract used for the construction works. A combined Design Team is to be appointed and while it is expected that individual members of the design team will be appointed under separate Employer / Consultant agreements the total service is to be provided through the Design Team Leader and the costs of all the Consultants required to carry out the project are to be included in this fee quotation. The Contract is to run for an estimated period of 3 years with the option to extend each and every year for a further 2 year term and it is expected that between 0 and 10 sites with a total Construction value of approximately PS10,000,000 (PS10 million) likely to be developed during that period. It is expected that in addition to this work it is likely that the same services shall be required for individual self build plots. Which may comprise of 50 to 100 individual plots.
