Summary of the contracting process

The Mayor's Office for Police and Crime has conducted a procurement process for the "VRU London Major Trauma Centre Youth Domestic Abuse Service," classified under the health and social work services category. The tender aimed to establish a dedicated service at four Major Trauma Centres in London, providing support for young people affected by domestic abuse. This service, involving youth independent domestic violence advocates, was procured using an open procedure, with the tender period concluding on 3rd March 2023. The contract, initially set from 1st May 2023 to 1st March 2027, has been actively awarded to Solace Women's Aid, with an optional extension now secured for an additional year, ending on 31st March 2027. The procurement stage has moved from tender to award, with the award status officially updated in June 2024.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in community and social services, particularly those with experience in youth advocacy and domestic violence support. Enterprises focusing on health services within metropolitan areas and those with the capacity for on-site engagement at multiple London locations are particularly well-suited. The open procurement method and the project's focus on high-impact community services highlight both immediate and long-term partnering potential for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), fostering growth in these sectors.
