Summary of the contracting process

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has successfully awarded a contract for the "Provision of Estates Professional Services - Lot 2" aimed at establishing a partnership for the management of Establishment Management Plans. This procurement process followed selective methods as a call-off from a framework agreement and was conducted in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The contract, valued at £2,151,294, commenced on 18th August 2021 and will run until 17th August 2023, with potential for yearly extensions. The geographic scope of this contract includes various jurisdictions such as the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, and several other territories. The final award notice was published on 15th September 2021.

This tender presents valuable opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in real estate services and institutional project management. Firms that can demonstrate expertise in developing and implementing establishment management plans will be well-positioned to compete. Given the nature of the contract, larger businesses with the capacity to handle extensive service contracts are suited to engage, especially as the DIO's contracts typically do not guarantee specific volumes of work. This environment fosters potential growth for established companies looking to expand their service offerings within the government's defence sector.
