Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being conducted by Sellafield, focusing on the 'RWM Technical Toolkits: Support, Maintenance and Development Framework' (Reference number: RWM176). This initiative falls under the category of industry-specific software development services, primarily aimed at supporting the deep geological disposal facility for radioactive waste in the UK. The current stage of the procurement process is planning, with an engagement end date set for 19 February 2021. The geographical focus is on the North West region of the United Kingdom, with significant details available regarding the framework agreement intended to distribute up to five lots for bespoke technical software tool development.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in software development, particularly those with competencies in analytical and scientific software solutions. Companies that can effectively deliver custom software solutions or contribute to developing tools for safety cases in the nuclear sector would be well-positioned to compete. This is especially relevant for organisations looking to expand their services within government contracts and the nuclear decommissioning industry.
