Notice Description

Nottingham City Council is seeking to appoint one or more suitably qualified service provider(s) to provide mortuary facilities and Coronial post mortem services to the Coroner for Nottinghamshire . The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 sets out the statutory powers and duties of HM Coroner. Under that Act, HM Coroner has powers to instruct post mortem examinations to take place and for bodies to be removed for, and in connection with, that purpose. Nottingham City Council in liaison with HM Coroner intends to arrange a contract for the provision of mortuary services with a hospital within the Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas.
