BREEAM Assessor, Newlyn Harbour Regeneration Programme
Notice Description
Newlyn Pier and Harbour Commissioners is seeking to secure the services of a suitably qualified BREEAM Assessor to work with the design and construction team/s to achieve BREEAM Excellent status for all ERDF funded elements of Newlyn Harbour Regeneration. The deadline for responses is: 13:00, Monday 3 September 2018. Newlyn is the largest fishing port in England by fleet and landings. It is located near Penzance in Mounts Bay, South West Cornwall. This Trust Port has a long term programme of development and expansion already underway. These plans address a longstanding shortage of good quality workspace in Newlyn, and quayside workspace in Cornwall, with the construction of industrial workshops, marine engineering infrastructure, food processing facilities and office space. This contract, will cover three projects within the overall programme: the New Strand, Canner Slipway and Canner Car Park project which together provide regeneration of the centre of the harbour estate and town. * The New Strand plans are for 2,160 m2 of new flexible workspace with some of this on an upper floor. The buildings will be formed using steel portal frames with lightweight cladding systems to fit with the existing vernacular of the harbour, maximise the flexibility of long term use and minimise build time and disruption to tenants. The current estimate for New Strand project, both building construction and piled foundations, is PS3.1m. * Canner Slipway is the installation of a new quay wall expanding on an existing area of hardstanding to a total area of 2,228m2 that will accommodate 6 to 8 industrial sheds of 120m2 each. * Canner Car Park will maintain the car parking capacity required by the harbour through demolition of redundant buildings replaced by the New Strand facilities and landscaping. These three projects are being funded by the Newlyn Pier and Harbour Commissioners, supported by a grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the ESIF Growth Programme for England 2014 to 2020 with the overall cost of all three elements of the scheme estimated at PS6,146,308. Additional information: The timelines for the ITT are as follows: Bidders are asked to register their interest and request a tender pack by 22 August. Tender packs will be sent out from Monday 20 August. ITT advertised on Contracts Finder: Thursday 16 August 2018. Potential bidders to request ITT pack by 17.00 on Wednesday 22 August 2018.
