Summary of the contracting process

UK Shared Business Services Limited procured a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) service, specifically SIEM licences and associated software information systems. The requirement supports the organisation’s security monitoring needs, including the addition of correlation rules under contract variations. This is a goods procurement, although delivery relates to a specialist technology service. The work is for UK Shared Business Services Limited in Swindon, with delivery linked to the SN2 1FF postcode. The relevant classification is software packages and information systems (CPV 48000000). The buyer is a UK public-sector shared-services organisation, so suppliers would need to provide enterprise security software and support its implementation or ongoing use.

This procurement is complete and has been awarded. It used a selective further competition, as a call-off from the Technology Products & Associated Services 2 framework (RM6098). The tender deadline was 12 May 2026 at 2pm, and the award was made on 26 May 2026. Bechtle Ltd was awarded the contract at £370,278.75 excluding VAT. The contract runs from 29 May 2026 to 28 May 2028. The original procurement value was £266,621.87 excluding VAT. Two signed variations added correlation rules and increased the contract value; the maximum value over the initial two-year period, optional extension and contingency is £523,479.83 excluding VAT. The procurement was identified as suitable for SMEs.

This award provides a clear indication of UK Shared Business Services Limited’s demand for enterprise SIEM licensing and related security-monitoring capability. Competitors seeking similar work from this buyer would need to demonstrate strong knowledge of SIEM platforms, licence supply, event correlation and the configuration or maintenance of correlation rules. The requirement favours suppliers able to support a public-sector environment and manage a substantial software deployment over a multi-year period, including changes within contractual contingency. Access to the relevant public-sector technology framework and experience of competing through a framework further competition would be important. SMEs were considered suitable, so smaller specialist security-software providers with credible delivery capacity may be competitive alongside larger technology suppliers.
