Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is currently engaged in a soft market testing process for the "Day Services Review," which is classified under health and social work services. Based in Kingston upon Thames, England, this initiative is in the planning stage and aims to enhance local day services to better meet the needs of individuals striving for independence. The engagement period ends on 19 April 2019, providing an opportunity for stakeholders to input before any formal procurement occurs. This process does not obligate the council to enter into contracts at this stage.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for businesses, particularly those in social care, health services, and community support sectors, to contribute innovative solutions that serve vulnerable populations. Companies that can provide flexible, person-centred services designed to empower individuals with disabilities would be well-positioned to engage with the council's anticipated future procurement processes. Participation in this market testing could lead to significant contracts aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in the Kingston upon Thames area.

Notice Title

Day Services Review - Soft Market Testing

Notice Description

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is committed to supporting people in fulfilling their potential. The Maximising Independence project is committed to a borough where people prosper and reach their full potential with high quality education, skills and employment. In doing so we want to ensure the right local services are available that promote independence, are responsive and flexible and informed by the local people. The Maximising Independence project aims to increase the number of people with disabilities gaining and sustaining jobs which helps the person to meet their life goals and aspirations. People will be supported to earn equitable wages and other employment benefits, develop new skills, promote their self-determination, choice and independence in order to have enhanced self esteem and economic independence. A review of the current day services provision available locally has identified a need to develop a more innovative and varied offer of day services in order to meet the needs of all eligible people and to incorporate the objectives of the Council. This soft market testing activity does not constitute a call for competition to procure any services, supplies or works for the Council and the Council is not bound to accept any proposals offered. The Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in the soft market testing exercise. Any procurement of any services, supplies or works by the Council in due course will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions in the UK and EU Procurement Regulations.
