Notice Title

- Research to define metrics for measuring progress in surface water flood risk management

Notice Description

The Adaptation Sub-Committee (ASC) of the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) is the government's statutory advisers on preparing for climate change. One of the roles of the ASC is to scrutinise progress made by the government in managing climate change risks. The Committee makes use of evidence to assess whether the government is delivering its own objectives, and whether these objectives are in-line with managing the long-term changes in risk. The UK Climate Change Risk Assessment 2017 found that rainfall patterns in the UK are intensifying, with the existing drainage and public sewerage network already under severe pressure in some areas. However, there is currently no government objective for managing this risk in the long term, and the overall impact of ongoing actions from local authorities and water companies is unknown. The ASC would like to define metrics to measure progress made in managing surface flooding at the local level, based on available data, and collate these metrics to gain a national picture of the current situation. *** Please specification for more information *** Additional information: Bids should be sent in time in time for receipt by 5pm on 18th October 2017
