Notice Title

Intermediate Care Beds with Step up/down provision in Harrow

Notice Description

NHS Harrow Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting interested providers to engage with the CCG as it seeks to commission local bed provision for Harrow patients for Intermediate Care and also Step up and Step down. Harrow CCG recognises the benefits of having an integrated approach to commission maximum 43 beds for 2 years from late 2019 (before winter), with an option to extend this for up to a further 2 years. The service will require local intermediate care beds (step-up and step-down rehabilitation) for a wide range of conditions which are located in acute, intermediate care and community facilities. The bed base will need to be in close geographical proximity for Harrow patients. These beds are expected to provide treatment in a care environment with input from a range of health professionals to ensure the holistic needs of patients are met. The CCG are looking for an integrated approach to manage patient's needs. The CCG is happy to facilitate collaborative solutions between providers. Interested providers must be able to provide the CCG with beds that can be flexibly used as per the specification. This will ensure economies of scale and the ability of the commissioner to monitor quality and performance. A CCG hosted workshop session is planned for Friday 24th May 2019 from 1.00pm to 3.00pm in Harrow (venue TBC on receipt of interested provider contact details). This workshop is important to think through a viable service model approach whilst also allowing networking between providers. The current intention is to procure a new service this asap this summer for the service to commence autumn where possible, ahead of winter. Additional information: Please contact susan.shaw25@nhs.net if you are interested in the above event with the names and contract details of attendees, returning the completed Market Engagement Questionnaire with your details. Participation in the engagement exercise is not a mandatory requirement for participating in any potential future procurement; however, responses received will assist to inform the Commissioner as to the level of interest from the market and will be used to inform the procurement approach, including whether a competitive process is appropriate. CONFIRMATION OF YOUR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IS THEREFORE IMPORTANT
