Manchester International Airport - Shotcrete works

Summary: Kier Transportation – CP7 NWC is procuring shotcrete and associated reinforced-concrete works at Manchester Airport station. The work supports a station capacity scheme intended to accommodate longer trains while retaining existing train services, by enabling two 144-metre trains to use two of the station’s four platforms. The package covers preparing and cleaning exposed contiguous piled retaining walls; installing mesh reinforcement, anchor bars and injection mortar; applying, curing and finishing sprayed concrete; forming and sealing joints; and protecting nearby assets.
