Automated People Mover (APM) Infrastructure - Early Engagement Notice
Notice Description
HS2 Ltd is currently seeking suitably experienced organisations to take part in Market Engagement for the delivery of the Automated People Mover (APM) Infrastructure project. The APM has been designed as an elevated mass transit system, which will transport passengers between the new HS2 Interchange Station, the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham International Railway Station (BIRS) and Birmingham Airport. The APM will consist of a 2.4km long viaduct, four stops and a maintenance facility. The Interchange Station Stop is at ground level and the three other stops and maintenance facility are on a viaduct (above ground level). The designated APM route will journey across heavily developed land whereby construction activities are considered to have a degree of complexity. For example, the APM has a multiple stakeholder landscape comprising of, but not limited to, Birmingham Airport, the National Exhibition Centre, Network Rail and National Highways. The purpose of this further market engagement exercise is to: - Refresh the market and raise industry awareness of the forthcoming opportunity; - Understand current appetite and capacity of contractors; and - Use feedback obtained to finalise the scope packaging, commercial approach and procurement strategy. Please note the following conditions regarding this Early Engagement Notice: 1) This Early Engagement Notice is not a call for competition and is not published to reduce time limits for the receipt of tenders. 2) This procurement will be launched in due course by the publication of a Contract Notice. 3) HS2 Ltd reserves the right not to commence any procurement or award any Contract in respect of this opportunity. 4) The information contained in this Early Engagement Notice may be subject to change due to the impact of governance, assurance and regulatory changes. Insofar as is permitted by law, HS2 Ltd shall not be liable for any losses incurred by any party as a result of reliance on the information contained / linked herein. 5) Failure to register an interest in connection with this Early Engagement Notice shall not prevent an organisation from participating in any formal call for competition.
