Notice Description

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England & NHS Improvement Midlands (the Commissioner) are inviting suitably qualified providers who are capable of delivering Unscheduled Dental Services in Nottingham City. An agreement will be established with the successful bidder for a period of 18 months with the option to extend for up to an additional 12 months (maximum contract duration 30 months). This contract term aligns with other contracts awarded for Unscheduled Dental Services within Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire STPs. The total contract, fixed at PS1,305,957.50, is based on delivering approximately 10,160 appointments in each financial year. The total contract value has been calculated using the current rates for 20/21 and will be subject to DDRB uplift each year. A range of appointments will be offered to patients between 8am and 8pm, 365 days per year. The aim of the service is to reduce inappropriate attendances at A & E whilst ensuring services are provided in a safe, caring, appropriate and accessible environment; and to contribute the dental element of an integrated unscheduled health care service by providing advice, care and treatment to patients via NHS 111 using administrative, nursing, medical and dental professionals. The service is currently being delivered through a time limited PDS contract which will expire on the 30th September 2021 with the new PDS contract commencing on 1st October 2021. The contract will be offered for a duration of 18 months with the commissioner having the option to extend for up to a further 12 months. The successful provider will need to provide their own premises for this service which needs be within Nottingham City (Wards in Nottingham City include - Arboretum, Aspley, Basford, Berridge, Bestwood, Bilborough, Bridge, Bulwell, Bulwell Forest, Clifton North, Clifton South, Dales, Dunkirk and Lenton, Leen Valley, Mapperley, Radford and Park, Sherwood, St Ann's, Wollaton East and Lenton Abbey, Wollaton West) AGCSU is supporting this Procurement in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (the "Regulations"). The Services is being procured as "Schedule 3 - Social and Other Specific Services" and AGCSU is bound only by those parts of the Regulations applying to Schedule 3 services.
