Summary of the contracting process

The Kent Police is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process titled "Provision of Vehicle Recovery, Movement, Storage and Release Services." This initiative is aimed at soft market testing to identify potential service providers capable of delivering vehicle and property recovery services within Kent. Key dates include an engagement end deadline of February 23, 2018. Interested parties are encouraged to access the DRAFT specification available on the Kent Police e-tendering portal and submit comments regarding their interest in various Lots defined by geographic areas and recovery types, applicable specifically to the South East region of England.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in vehicle recovery and storage services, particularly those equipped to handle both light (vehicles under 3.5 tonnes) and heavy (vehicles over 3.5 tonnes) recovery operations. Companies with experience in logistics, transport management, and related sectors may find this tender particularly appealing, as Kent Police seeks to enhance their operational readiness and efficiency through reliable partnerships. Firms interested in this market engagement should prepare to demonstrate their capabilities in managing recovery logistics and compliance with necessary standards and equipment specifications outlined in the DRAFT documentation.

Notice Title

Kent Police - Provision of Vehicle Recovery, Movement, Storage and Release Srvcs Early Engagement - Contracts Finder

Notice Description

Procurement Services, on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent, is undertaking soft market testing in relation to the provision of services to recover vehicles and other property, including storage, secondary movements and release, to meet the operational and strategic policing needs of the Police in the County of Kent. Other property will include but is not limited to large and heavy items of plant, equipment, and machinery. The Commissioner, prior to commencing any formal tender, invites interested potential service providers to state which Lots (geographic areas, light or heavy recoveries) they might be interested in bidding for, and to submit any comments on the DRAFT specification. The Lots have currently been selected taking into account the Kent policing model, resilience, and the distance of travel to incidents for potential contractors and for access to vehicles by the organisation and the public, and also by light recovery (vehicles under 3.5 tonnes MAM) and heavy recovery (vehicles over 3.5 tonnes MAM). Disposal services may also be required. The DRAFT specification can be downloaded from the portal at http://kentpolice.bravosolution.co.uk (project reference 17219). This contains details (all info is subject to change) of the services required, and also the standards, facilities and equipment that will be required to be maintained by contractors under the scheme. This exercise may be followed by further engagement in early 2017 at a Kent Police site (to be confirmed). This market engagement will not influence the selection of bidders.
