Summary of the contracting process

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has initiated a procurement process for the "HCA Lea Castle Hospital Demolition Works" project, located in the West Midlands, United Kingdom. This tender involves substantial demolition work, including the safe removal of asbestos and existing structures, with an estimated total contract value of £2,200,000. The tender period closes on 27th November 2017, with the contract period starting from 15th December 2017 and running until 28th June 2019. This tender represents a significant opportunity for construction firms, particularly those specialised in demolition and asbestos removal, to expand their portfolios. Businesses that are well-positioned to compete should be licensed by the HSE and members of recognised associations such as the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA). The project’s multiple phases and large scale can also favour small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the capacity to deliver complex contracts, allowing them to showcase their capabilities in a competitive bidding environment.
