Summary of the contracting process

Merseyside Police - Procurement Department is currently soliciting tenders for the installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points for Staff Vehicles, aimed at supporting their staff under an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme. This procurement falls under the services category, specifically related to electricity and chargers, and is located in the North West region of the United Kingdom. The tender is being conducted using a selective procurement method (restricted procedure) and is at the active tender stage, with a submission deadline set for 9th April 2021, after which the contract period is expected to commence on 10th May 2021 and last until 9th May 2026.

This opportunity is well-suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in the installation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging solutions. With the growing demand for electric vehicle infrastructure, particularly in response to the government's commitment to phase out new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030, businesses involved in this sector stand to benefit from significant growth opportunities. Companies offering innovative charging technology or efficient installation services will find this tender particularly relevant to their expertise.

Notice Title

Electric Vehicle Charging Points for Staff Vehicles

Notice Description

Merseyside Police introduced an electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme in summer 2020 for staff to purchase electric or hybrid vehicles. As a result of this scheme, plus the government target to phase out the purchase of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030, and a general desire from staff to help the environment, a demand has arisen for staff to be able to charge their privately owned electric and/or hybrid vehicles whilst at work across the Merseyside Police estate.
