Notice Title

Perinatal Mental Health Community Peer Support Service

Notice Description

The London Borough of Camden ('the Council') is seeking to award a contract for the provision of a Perinatal Mental Health Community Peer Support Service. The current service works with pregnant women and new mothers who are experiencing mild-to-moderate anxiety and depression. The service provides them with practical and emotional support, with significant involvement from people who themselves have overcome similar mental health problems. In commissioning this service going forwards, following stakeholder engagement, the provider will be asked to enhance the service by: * Stretching provision to include infants up to the age of two (i.e. the first 1001 days of life, in line with the NHS long term plan) * Engaging fathers as well as mothers * Providing good quality support and incentives for unpaid peer supporters * Ensuring there is a particular focus on Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority communities who are underrepresented in services * Being required to liaise with other under 5s services in Camden to offer provision in 'close to home' locations e.g. at local community venues or children's centres where possible To enable the delivery of the enhanced service, the value of this contract has been increased by PS40,000 per annum compared to the current budget with the total contract value now PS440,000 over the 4 year contract period. This budget should be considered as a maximum value. The council retains the right to reject any Quotation submitted with a total price in excess of the budget for the service. The contract will be for a period of 4 years commencing on 1 April 2022. Full details of the service requirements are set out in the ITQ Pack.
