Provision of Insourced Vascular and General Surgery Services
Notice Description
Whittington Health NHS Trust has entered into an arrangement with National Clinical Insourcing Ltd for the provision of insourced vascular and general surgery elective activity delivered on Trust premises. The service involves the provision of suitably qualified consultant surgeons and associated clinical staff to undertake additional elective outpatient and procedural activity in order to support the reduction of waiting lists and improve patient access to care. Services are delivered within the Trust's clinical governance framework and in accordance with local clinical policies and protocols, with appropriate clinical oversight provided by the Trust's responsible consultants.

"description": "This arrangement has been awarded in accordance with the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) for the procurement of healthcare services. Due to the urgent operational requirement to increase elective capacity and address waiting list pressures, the Trust determined that a direct award was the most appropriate and proportionate approach in this instance. The Trust considered the provider's ability to mobilise additional clinical capacity at short notice and to deliver services safely within the Trust's existing clinical governance arrangements. The Trust considers that the decision to proceed with a direct award is proportionate in light of the operational urgency and the need to ensure continuity of safe patient care. The scope and duration of this arrangement have been limited to the minimum necessary to address the immediate requirement while longer-term service planning and capacity arrangements continue. The contract value is dependent on the level of clinical activity delivered and therefore represents an estimated value only.",
