Archaeology at Southampton has a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Ranked 29th in the world for Archaeology (QS World University Rankings, 2019) and 3rd for research power in the UK (REF, 2014), we have an international reputation as one of the leading centres for the study of archaeology, with high profile research projects carried out all over the world. Our syllabus covers the span of human history, from the emergence of our species to debates about the role of archaeology in contemporary society. Our staff are involved in archaeological fieldwork and investigations that feed into all our teaching. The range of taught programmes, as well as our research community and excellent facilities, emphasise how archaeology is a truly interdisciplinary subject that bridges the divide between the humanities and the sciences. To further support the department with on going field and research work, the University of Southampton would like to purchase a Laser Total Station With Red Laser & Controller. The full requirements can be found in (File 2) ITT Scope, Guidance and Instructions, Appendix 1: - Specification. Additional information: The University is utilising an electronic tendering tool (In-Tend: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofsouthampton) to manage this procurement and to communicate with bidders. All documentation in relation to this tender can be downloaded from the In-Tend portal. Bidders are advised that there will be no hard copy documents issued to organisations and all communications with the University including the submission of PQQ and/or Invitation to Tender Responses will be conducted via the In-Tend portal. Regular monitoring of the portal is the responsibility of the bidder.
