Notice Title

Self-Assessments for International Induction, Return to Practice & IGPR doctors

Notice Description

Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award. Please note the contracting authority intends to direct award the contract to the Royal College of General Practitioners. The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal. Heath Education England [HEE] believe that the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) is the only supplier with the requisite expertise, experience, and credibility to provide support in the form of a self-assessment tool for GPs on the Return to Practice, International Induction, and International GP Recruitment programmes. The RCGP is the professional membership body for GPs in the UK. The RCGP sets the curriculum, standards of training and administration of examinations in general practice in England. The self-assessment tool is aligned to the current RCGP GP training curriculum and allows HEE to monitor the doctors progress through their associated programme. HEE believes that it is highly unlikely for any other supplier to credibly deliver or be able to develop this tool for use by GPs from the start of the contract in April 2022 to provide the following skills provided by the current supplier which include: * Delivery of online learning resources and a bespoke self-assessment platform which has been specifically adapted to support international and returning GPs on the International Induction, Return to Practice and International GP Recruitment (IGPR) programmes. * The RCGP has the credibility to provide these services to HEE given that the RCGP sets the curriculum, standards of training and administration of examinations in general practice in England. The RCGP curriculum acts as the educational framework for the 3-year speciality training programme for doctors entering general practice in the UK. * RCGP's bespoke self-assessment platform is derived from the RCGP's GP Self-Assessment - their learning needs assessment tool for GPs at all career stages, designed to help those preparing for the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) which is part of the examination for Membership of the Royal College of GPs. The financial envelope for the contract is PS33,872.60 - PS101,617.80 (dependant on extensions) exclusive of any VAT. For the Specification, Contract and the Case for Direct Award please access the portal at: https://health-family-contract-search.secure.force.com/?SearchType=Projects All communications should be made via the messaging function on the Health Family E-Tendering portal. If any provider has concerns with the commissioning intentions outlined within the published documentation, please raise this via the eTendering Portal in the first instance within 30 days of the date of this Prior Information Notice. The closing date of this PIN is midday on the 4th January 2022.
