Summary of the contracting process

The Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) has completed a procurement process for the position titled "Role 9 - Senior Associate Policy Support for the Developer Services Market." This contract falls under the category of general management consultancy services and has a total value of £48,750. It was initiated through a selective procurement method, involving a call-off from a framework agreement. The contract period commenced on 9 September 2019 and concluded on 6 December 2019. Two key regions for delivery include the West Midlands and London, with the tender period officially closing on 5 August 2019.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in policy analysis and consultancy within the developer services market. Businesses that possess strong analytical abilities, particularly those skilled in evaluating both quantitative and qualitative evidence, could thrive in competing for similar roles. The focus on new connection charges suggests that firms with experience in the utilities sector or related fields may find this opportunity particularly relevant for expanding their service offerings.

Notice Title

Role 9 - Senior Associate Policy Support for the Developer Services Market

Notice Description

This role is intended to provide senior associate level support within the developer services market team. Whilst we currently expect this role to focus on our monitoring activities, there is the possibility that the role will focus on some other element of the developer services market (in discussion and agreement between Ofwat and the successful contractor). As a result we are looking for transferable skills that could address a variety of different policy issues within developer services markets. We expect you will form a key part of a focussed team monitoring aspects of developer services, likely with a particular focus on new connection charges. This will involve using a range of techniques including analytical techniques to draw insight and conclusions from a wide variety of evidence (both quantitative and qualitative), and reporting on findings for potential publication.
