Summary of the contracting process

The Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking providers for its "Care Home Services for People Aged 16 upwards - Framework Agreement" in the health and social work services category. This procurement process is currently at the Award stage, having been completed on 29 November 2019, with a contract value of £100 million. The contract period commenced on 1 December 2019 and will conclude on 30 November 2021. Deliveries will be directed to the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom. The procurement was conducted through an open procedure with no further competitions to be held under this framework.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses that provide care home services, particularly for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. Those specialising in residential (including nursing) placements for younger adults would be particularly well-suited to engage in future opportunities stemming from services commissioned through alternative projects, such as the "Dynamic Provider List - Residential Care for Younger Adults." Companies with a proven track record in delivering care to service users, especially those under the age of 65, may find this a valuable opportunity to collaborate with the council and expand their service offerings.

Notice Title

Care Home Services for People Aged 16 upwards - Framework Agreement

Notice Description

The Council wishes to establish a Framework Agreement which will allow the Council to engage with suitably qualified Providers who are already providing Care Home services to existing Service Users, the majority of whom will be aged under 65 when placed. The Council wishes to update existing Contract terms and conditions, or renew existing packages of care. No further competition processes will be run under this Framework Agreement. Placements for newly identified Service Users in need of Care Home services will generally be commissioned through an alternative project, the "Dynamic Provider List - Residential Care for Younger Adults", reference DN80051. This Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) is active and open to new applications from organisations seeking opportunities to deliver residential (including nursing) placements.
