UHB Enterprise Content Management Platform - Market Engagement
Notice Description
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is one of the largest teaching hospital Trusts in England and the West Midlands, serving a regional, national and international population. It includes Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham Chest Clinic, Good Hope Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Solihull Hospital and various Community Services. We also run a number of smaller satellite units, allowing people to be treated as close to home as possible. UHB is a Foundation Trust employing around 24,000 members of staff and we are committed to investing in their development and health and wellbeing. UHB treats over 2.2 million patients each year, and has 2,366 in-patient beds over 105 wards in addition to 115 children's beds and 145 day-case beds. The trust operates 7,127 outpatient and 304 community clinics per week. UHB is looking to source a solution from suppliers which replaces the current Enterprise Content Management Platform software for the storage of all types of electronic medias. This will aim to scan, store and retrieve all electronic based media types across the clinical, administrative and corporate areas across UHB to improve operational performance; improve patient outcomes and improve ways of working for staff. The primary role of this software is to electronically store part of the patient electronic clinical record as we continue our direction towards a paperless environment. The current solution has been in use since 2009 and has 125 million documents that are across two instances (because of a hospital mergers). These documents are regularly accessed by our clinicians to deliver high quality patient care. Over the last decade there has been a national drive to allow patients to have access to the information we hold. This has been achieved in the NHS via local patient portals or via the national NHS App. Currently this information is limited to referral or appointment data, but the national trend is to make all electronic media that we hold available to patients. This solution must be able to support this strategy via integration with patient portals and /or the NHS App. As well as the above requirements, The Trust is seeking an overview on the management and support that can be provided on an on-going basis from interested suppliers. Suppliers wishing to participate in this market engagement exercise and express an interest in this requirement should respond to the questionnaire via the online form on the Health Family Single eCommercial System Portal (Atamis) by 13:00 on Wednesday 13th December 2023. https://health-family.force.com/s/Welcome
