Summary of the contracting process

Surrey County Council is seeking proposals for the "SCC AW Surrey Appropriate Adult Volunteering Service" to provide statutory services for children, young people, and vulnerable adults in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. The procurement is currently in the Tender stage, with a total contract value of £500,000. The tender period concludes on 13th October 2021, and the contract is set to commence on 1st April 2022, running until 31st March 2025. This project falls under the health and social work services category and is targeted at locations across Surrey with police custody suites.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector enterprises (VCSEs) to expand their service offerings in the social care space. Businesses focused on social work services, especially those with experience in providing support to vulnerable individuals and legal representation, would be well-placed to compete for this contract. By engaging in this procurement process, organisations can contribute to safeguarding vulnerable populations while enhancing their business portfolio in the public sector.
