Supported Accommodation Block Beds
Description: Supported accommodation (sometimes called semi-independent or post-16 accommodation) includes suitable, safe, and secure living arrangements for young people who are on the journey towards living independently, though, require a level of support that is appropriate to their needs. A key outcome goal of services should be to develop or sustain young people's capacity to live independently within the community. These services are being commissioned in response to a range of statutory requirements for young people aged 16-21, we would expect that young people aged 21-25 would only be accommodated in exceptional circumstances, such as those in further education, with most provision being occupied by young people aged 16-20. Predominantly we expect provision for: * Looked after children aged 16 and 17; * Care leavers under the Children Act (read more...)
