Notice Description

Procurement under the Education and Training Light Touch Regime. NHS England seeks to commission education and training services to support the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT). We have a responsibility to support the wider workforce within Primary Care across the East of England, a large proportion of our work is focused on supporting General Practice Postgraduate Doctors in Training (PGDiTs). Whilst we have a responsibility to support the wider workforce within Primary Care across the East of England, a large proportion of our work is focussed on supporting General Practice Specialty Trainees. PGDiTs appointed to General Practice Training in the East of England will work in one of 18 Training programmes. Each of these programmes are responsible for providing Half Day Release educational sessions that include topics linked to the General Practice Curriculum as outlined by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). However, not all elements can be covered through this mechanism. The Primary Care School are therefore required to host some central training and education sessions via a variety of live events and online training packages and resources. The impact of COVID-19 has also created additional demand for this due to Trainees having limited exposure to certain clinical domains with limited patient contact and Half Day release sessions being conducted virtually.
