Summary of the contracting process

The Dorset County Council is initiating a procurement process for the "Community Health Improvement Services (CHIS) Framework", aiming to establish a Framework Agreement for delivering various health services across Dorset. This tender falls under the "Community health services" category and is being conducted under the Light Touch Regime (LTR) guidelines. The tender process is currently in the Award stage, with the contract period set to run from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020. The tender period closes on 31 March 2019, and the total value of the Framework is £8,800,000, with a minimum contract value of £1,500,000. Interested parties can find further information on the Public Health Dorset website.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Voluntary and Community Sector Enterprises (VCSEs), to expand their service offerings in public health. Companies operating in sectors related to health checks, contraception services, needle exchange programmes, supervised consumption services, and smoking cessation initiatives would be particularly well-suited to apply. The framework allows for an unrestricted number of providers, facilitating continuous engagement and the potential for new entrants throughout its duration, making it an attractive proposition for firms looking to grow their portfolio in community health services.
