RIS and PACS PIN
Notice Description
This PIN is open to suppliers on the Reference: NHS Supply chain 2020/S 114-277934 Medical IT Departmental Software and Hardware Solutions The Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) is a key clinical component in the delivery of care and diagnosis in Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. First installed in 2013 the PACS and RIS systems are used across the Trust including Breast Screening. Both systems are from different suppliers. PACS has completely replaced the use of film for medical imaging and is in widespread use across all acute hospital sites. Locally, the Fuji Film Synapse PACS solution allows imaging to be accessed anywhere in the hospital without the need to manually transfer film. Cross-boundary radiology image and report sharing also exists using the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS imaging sharing solution, SYBXEN, from Agfa Healthcare has advanced clinical care, providing clinicians with the full imaging history of a patient from any one of 3 NHS Trusts in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS currently linked to it and is relied upon by clinicians in every part of the hospital and region. Although DBTH is not currently linked to this solution the benefit is something that needs to be appreciated with any new solution used. RIS is provided by another supplier, Canon, Vital Images Zillion. The current Radiology Imaging and Reporting landscape is complex and diverse. The Trust are looking to simplify the landscape and are looking for a single supplier for their replacement RIS and PACS solutions with an Enterprise Imaging Platform. An EI (PACS) led reporting radiology solution that is not only established in the local region but also internationally. Links https://health-family.force.com/s/Welcome
