Notice Description

The EA maintains equipment and arrangements to provide a rapidly deployable air quality monitoring and sampling capability for major air pollution incidents in support of the Air Quality Cell (An Air Quality Cell is a virtual team of technical experts convened to assess the public health and environmental risks posed by emissions from particularly large scale or long lasting incidents. The core members of an AQC are the EA, PHE and Met Office (MO). This capability comprises: * 4 response teams equipped with portable air quality monitoring and sampling equipment; * 2 'van-based' mobile air quality monitoring laboratories (mobile labs) for high quality longer term monitoring.
