The overarching aim of this project is to develop a clinically led optimum service model that will allow Lancashire and South Cumbria to both meet current service specifications for non-surgical oncology, and deliver the most cost efficient delivery model within the current funding envelope. It is paramount that this describes the workforce needed to deliver the optimum model, and that it takes account of current and future demand. The model must meet all professional body benchmarking standards for workforce, and must include the leadership roles necessary to promote service development, increase research activity, and attract future NHS professionals to the system.
