Notice Description

The Trust is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Architect, who will also undertake the role of Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) under the Building Safety Act 2022, to provide full professional services for the replacement of an existing MRI scanner at St Helier Hospital. The commission shall encompass RIBA Stages 2-7 and include, but not be limited to, the development of the architectural design, multidisciplinary design coordination, Building Regulations Principal Designer duties, statutory approvals, stakeholder engagement, tender support, contract administration (where instructed), construction phase support and project close-out. The project involves the replacement of an existing MRI scanner within a live acute healthcare environment and is anticipated to include significant enabling and alteration works, including: Removal and replacement of the existing MRI scanner. Temporary and permanent removal and reinstatement of sections of the external facade to facilitate equipment installation. Internal demolition, structural alterations and reconfiguration of accommodation. MRI shielding requirements, including RF shielding, magnetic shielding and Faraday cage interfaces. MRI quench pipe design coordination and associated building alterations. Compliance with MRI safety requirements, including zoning, controlled access, emergency procedures and operational workflows. Coordination of mechanical, electrical and public health engineering services, including ventilation, electrical infrastructure, lighting, medical equipment interfaces, fire alarm, access control, communications and associated builders' works.
