Notice Title

Humber Bridge Board - Appointment of a consultant to produce a Strategic Masterplan

Notice Description

Hull City Council is administrating a tender exercise on behalf of the Humber Bridge Board. The Board seeks to develop a comprehensive masterplan that will assist in defining its strategic priorities and business case over the next ten years. These priorities should be phased to advance the Humber Bridge as an enticing destination over time. The installations and developments within the masterplan should build on successive phases to inform and grow its offer as a destination and celebrate the region's strengths. The masterplan should identify how the bridge and surrounding area can be used to define the Humber Bridge visitor experience with a focus on engineering as the overarching theme. This theme plays into the strengths of the destination, fits the place marketing and inward investment needs of the region, becomes a focus for the STEM agenda in the region, celebrates engineering and excites enthusiasm on the subject, and creates connections to local and potential collaborators. The Humber Bridge visitor experience should become the international standard to interpret infrastructure as a destination asset that educates and thrills visitors. Proposals should project this theme across the Humber Bridge itself, its land and the wider area. The purpose is to deliver a masterplan that works to solidify the aims of the Humber Bridge Board, alongside existing national and regional strategic plans, by utilising the region's most notable landmark as a catalyst for renewal of the area.
