Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Supply Chain is currently engaged in a procurement process for a Framework Agreement titled "Textiles and associated products". This initiative falls under the textile industry category and aims to supply various textile products including uniforms, protective equipment, and bedding. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, with the tender period concluding on 7 November 2016. The estimated value of this contract is approximately £85 million over a four-year term, and it covers delivery across multiple regions of the United Kingdom including the North East, London, and the South West.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the textile and healthcare sectors, particularly those providing workwear, protective clothing, and related goods. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, thanks to the procurement's inclusive suitability criteria. The anticipated initial expenditure in the first year is estimated at £18 million, offering a substantial entry point for businesses aiming to expand their market presence in public sector contracts.
