Summary of the contracting process

The Newcastle City Council is seeking support for their Plumbing & Heating Support Framework, aimed at procuring services in the Repair and Maintenance sector. This contract is currently in the award stage, having recently been completed with a total value of £10,000,000. The contract period commenced on 1st September 2021 and is set to conclude on 31st August 2023. The procurement method used was an open procedure, with a tender period that ended on 15th June 2021, focusing on delivering services primarily within the North East of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialised in plumbing and heating services, including those capable of delivering planned and responsive maintenance and emergency repairs. Competitors should be larger enterprises, as the contract is not suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies with expertise in boiler replacement schemes, as well as comprehensive plumbing and heating services, could greatly benefit from participating in this framework.
