Notice Description

Medway Council's contract for Medway Integrated Community Equipment Service M(ICES) is due to end on the 31 August 2025. The current provider is contracted to deliver core stock within a set period (5 days), and urgent and emergency out of hours deliveries. It is also contracted to source and supply specialist equipment when required. The aim of the service is to procure, supply, deliver, fit, install, adjust, repair, refurbish, collect, decontaminate, recycle, and dispose of items requisitioned by authorised prescribers. Medway Council will be holding a provider engagement event via Microsoft Teams on 10 July 2024. The intention of the event is to give information and data on the current service and to discuss Medway Council's future intention for the new contract. Medway Council would like to hear the views of potential providers on the future service delivery, recycling and on digital telecare and technology. Speakers will give information and data on the current service delivery that will give a clear picture of the future intended direction of the service. Medway Council will be asking potential providers on their views and ideas to ensure that the future service received by the residents of Medway, is high quality, environmental and technologically up to date and value for money. The service is jointly commissioned and funded by Medway Council and Kent/Medway Integrated Care Board (KMICB) as part of the Better Care Fund (BCF) and Section 75 agreement. The service is a statutory social care function which provides health and social care equipment on loan to residents of Medway. It supports the wider reablement service that focuses on improving quality outcomes for patients and supports avoiding unnecessary stays in hospital.
