Summary of the contracting process

The Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) is seeking tender submissions for "Call-Off Proofreading and Editing Services" as part of its initiatives for the 2018-19 price review process. This procurement falls under the services industry category and is relevant for businesses that have experience in proofreading services (CPV code: 79821100). The tender is currently in the open procedure stage, with a submission deadline set for 5 December 2018. The contract period is scheduled to commence on 17 December 2018 and will run until 31 March 2020, with the total contract value approximately £28,500, and a minimum payment of £25,000. Services will be required primarily in West Midlands and London.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in proofreading and editing, particularly those capable of delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines. With Ofwat's focus on producing clear communications for stakeholders, businesses that can demonstrate relevant expertise and a capacity for project-based work will be well-positioned to compete. Given the nature of the projects, companies with flexible staffing solutions and experience in regulatory language adaptation will find this opportunity particularly beneficial for growth.

Notice Title

Call-Off Proofreading and Editing Services

Notice Description

Ofwat has a number of key publications to be published each year to a challenging timetable. In particular, we are currently (2018-19) making decisions within our price review. One of the ways we regulate is to set the price, investment and service package that customers receive. This includes setting limits on the prices the companies can charge their customers. We currently carry out a review of these price limits every five years. This will need to be widely published to our Stakeholders and other interested parties in clear and easy to understand language. The work shall be project based as commissioned by the Customer's Project Manager. The Supplier shall be given at least two working days' notice of the start of each project work unless agreed otherwise between the parties. This is a guide only and there may be occasions where less notice is given particularly where the project work is ad hoc (i.e. not identified as a specific project within this document). Where the work relates to Water 2020 draft methodology consultation and final methodology consultation then the Supplier shall operate on the basis of the information given in this document as notice.
