Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit is currently in the planning stage for the procurement of Integrated Urgent Care Services, which includes NHS 111 Services. This procurement process spans the East Midlands, specifically targeting Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Nottinghamshire. Interested parties are invited to submit their Expressions of Interest by 17:00 on Tuesday, 3rd March 2020, to participate in the upcoming project aimed at enhancing urgent care services, with the expected commencement date for services set for 1st October 2021. A market engagement event may follow later in the year to discuss further opportunities and refine the commissioning approach, depending on the interest received.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in health services and related sectors, particularly those capable of delivering NHS 111 Call Handling, Clinical Assessment Services, and GP out-of-hours services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) could find this particularly advantageous, as the procurement aims to ensure high-quality care and cost-effective solutions for the population. Businesses that can demonstrate experience in integrated health services and are willing to collaborate across regions are well-suited to compete for this opportunity, which may lead to long-term contracts and partnerships within the healthcare framework.
