Summary of the contracting process

Sport England is currently conducting a tender for the "Evaluation of Families Fund Programme," which falls under the category of recreational, cultural, and sporting services. This procurement is open and is set to end on 13th July 2018, with a total contract value of £140,000. The project aims to refine measurement frameworks and support data collection to assess the impact of the programme on increasing physical activity levels among children and families, particularly in lower socio-economic groups. The contract is scheduled to commence on 1st August 2018 and will run for four years, concluding on 31st July 2022. The geographical scope for delivery includes the UK and British Overseas Territories.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in community health, sports services, and social development. Companies that can demonstrate experience in evaluative processes, data collection and reporting within the context of health or sports projects would be well-suited to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, given the nature and scope of the services required to achieve the programme's objectives.

Notice Title

Evaluation of Families Fund Programme

Notice Description

We are seeking to appoint a supplier to deliver an evaluation of the Families Fund programme. The evaluation will be concerned with refining a common measurement framework for all the projects, supporting projects with data collection, reporting the impact of the programme, and providing an understanding of the processes and mechanisms by which relevant outcomes are or are not achieved. 2. Objectives of the Families Fund: - To increase the activity levels of children aged 5 to 15 in lower socio-economic groups, who are not currently meeting the Chief Medical Officer's recommendation of at least 60 minutes a day of physical activity - To support and enable families to be active together throughout the week - To provide families with positive experiences of physical activity and sport and through that help them to develop more positive attitudes towards activity - To positively impact on the Government sport strategy outcomes - physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, individual development, social and community development - We also expect some of the adults in the families we target will be inactive i.e. doing less than 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a week. As a result, we would expect projects to contribute to more adults crossing the 30-minute threshold - and staying above it.
