Summary of the contracting process

The UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Defra Environmental Noise Modelling Design and Build". This initiative falls under the IT services industry category, specifically focusing on consulting, software development, and Internet support. A crucial milestone in this process is the Supplier Engagement Event scheduled for 22 January 2020, which will take place in London. Interested parties must submit their expressions of interest by 14 January 2020 to participate in the event.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those that provide consulting and software development related to environmental modelling. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to engage, as the procurement process is designed to be inclusive of such businesses. Participating in the supplier engagement event will allow companies to gain insights into DEFRA's requirements and potentially influence the project's direction, enabling them to better tailor their proposals to meet the department's needs.
